The Best Wedding Chapel is nestled in the historic section of Shelbyville, Illinois, just behind the county courthouse. Built in the 1870s this former Catholic Church makes an elegant setting for your Wedding Day or Anniversary Vow Renewal from the magnificent 14 foot original stained glass windows to the 33 foot cathedral ceiling.

The Chapel can put you into a setting you have only dreamed about, with traditional and nontraditional services. Decorated in a fairy tale style the Best Wedding Chapel provides a candlelight ceremony complete with twinkling lights, flowering vines, soft flowing fabrics, golden ribbons and fountains. All to assure you feel like a prince and princess on your most special day. Whether you pick your own music and vows or choose from our traditional, you and your guests will be transformed into a romantic mood by the surroundings already in place for you at the Chapel. Owned by Darrell and Lisa Best and with some help from their sons, everyone at Best Wedding Chapel wants to make you and your guests feel welcome and at home from the spectacular start to the joyous ending of your beautiful ceremony. The Wedding packages offered are designed to fit even the most modest budget. The Best family wishes for every couple to be able to have a wedding day they can cherish, be proud of and most important for a good start...afford!
The Chapel can seat 75 guests comfortably and has plenty of standing room. All packages include decorations, music,and the minister. You may want to celebrate (weather pemitting) by taking a cruise through town in the unique 1942 open top fire truck owned by the Chapel. It’s a surefire way to let people know you have gotten married and are celebrating.
Theme based weddings are also available, like biker weddings, beach, gothic, gangster, fireman, hippie, boating, outdoor... after all it is your wedding. We want you to do it your way.
